arts

Arts at College Prep are creative and invigorating, fostering connections between students from all grades.
The Arts Department offers a range of courses in four disciplines: visual arts, dance, drama, and music. Beginning, intermediate, and advanced courses are offered in each discipline. Entry-level classes introduce each art form through technical skill-building, instruction in basic theory, appreciation, and analysis. Intermediate and advanced classes help students refine their skills and dive deeply into particular areas of interest.

Arts students participate in collaborative, school-wide projects throughout the year, including visual art and chamber music evenings, music concerts, dance showcases, drama productions, and musicals. Students are required to take at least four semesters of art at College Prep, and most choose to take more. Participation in at least two arts disciplines is required.

Art classes are a great opportunity to relax and get creative. Every class is different. The teachers are always there to help you improve your work. I’ve taken almost every performing arts class and I can’t pick a favorite. I love singing for the school with the Vocal Ensemble, performing in the Dance Show, and the traditions in the Drama community.”
