Fall 2023 Admissions Events

College Prep hosts a variety of admissions events throughout the fall for prospective students and parents to get to know our community.
Registration for all events is required through our application portal. Once logged in, families with students in 8th grade and above should click the "Apply" button to register for events. Families with students in 7th grade should click "Inquire/Explore" from within the portal. If your student is in the 6th grade or below, please use our website to learn about College Prep and plan to join us for admission events in 7th or 8th grade. 
CAMPUS TOUR (In Person)
Offered most Wednesdays and Fridays, September 20 through December 6. Due to space limitations, this event is only for families with students in 8th grade or above.

We are excited to show you our vibrant community and beautiful campus. Each applicant (accompanied by up to two adults) is invited to tour campus, ask questions of student ambassadors and faculty members, and learn how we guide students through our program. This event does not include a classroom visit. Class visits will be offered in the spring for admitted students.

College Prep students discuss various aspects of campus life including academics, arts, athletics, clubs, and school culture followed by a panel to answer your questions. This event is geared towards students, though parents are welcome to attend.

Teachers and administrators will answer your questions about school life, academics, athletics, culture and community, equity and belonging, and more. This event is geared towards parents, though students are welcome to attend. 
EQUITY AND BELONGING EVENING (In Person)
Wednesday, December 6 from 6:30 - 8:00 pm 

College Prep embraces the variety of backgrounds and life experiences within our community and recognizes that the authentic expression of diversity is essential to a meaningful education. All interested prospective applicants and their families are invited to learn about College Prep's equity and belonging programming and school culture. Attendees will hear from student leaders, the Dean of Equity and Belonging, and current College Prep parents.
AFFORDING COLLEGE PREP: DEMYSTIFYING FINANCIAL AID (Virtual)
Wednesday, November 8 from 4:00 - 5:15 pm

Monday, January 8 from 6:30 - 7:45 pm

This virtual workshop details the costs of attending College Prep, demystifies the financial aid process at independent schools, and provides specific strategies for completing your financial aid application. This event will be conducted as a webinar, allowing participants to listen and ask questions anonymously. Find out more about financial aid at College Prep.
PUBLIC & PAROCHIAL SCHOOL INFORMATION AND PANEL (Virtual)
Thursday, November 30, 6:30 - 7:30 pm 

This event is for families whose children currently attend public or parochial schools. College Prep students who attended public and parochial middle schools will discuss their journey to independent high school, sharing their wisdom about making the transition to a different type of school environment. The admission team will be on hand to answer questions about the application process.

Latinx and Black students and families are invited to join us for these events. Ensuring racial justice and equity are foundational principles within the College Prep community. Current students and families will share their experiences and school administrators will discuss how College Prep develops and amplifies resources, systems, and programs that support a compassionate, equitable, and affirming school culture.

College Prep is offering a series of themed events for families this season. Virtual events are for families with students in 7th grade or above while in-person events are only for families with students in 8th grade or above due to space constraints. 
ARTS & ATHLETICS SHOWCASE (In Person)
Sunday, November 12, 1:00 - 3:00 pm. This event is only for families with students in 8th grade or above. Each family may bring the applicant and up to two adults.

Families are invited to join teachers from College Prep's academic departments (English, History, World Languages, Math, and Science) for demo lessons. You'll learn about our approach to these subjects, the pathways through these programs, and the opportunities for students interested in these fields both in and out of the classroom.
Drop-in Zoom Admissions Office Hours: Once a month on Tuesdays, 10:00 - 11:00 am

Once a month the admission staff hosts zoom office hours. If you have questions about the school, the application process, or would like to connect with us for any reason, please drop in! Registration is not required.

Office hours will be held on 10/3, 11/7, 12/5, and 1/9. Zoom link is available on our application portal.
