What's the biggest difference between middle school and high school? The way people act. In middle school, people try to be cool and fit in, but in high school, or at least at College Prep, everyone is themselves and everyone accepts that.
Why are you glad that you chose College Prep? I felt it was an environment in which I would be surrounded by like minded people who had a love of learning. I was really happy to find that's exactly what it is.
What advice do you have for 8th graders applying to high school? Don't try and make yourself work for a certain school. Instead, try and find a school that works for you. The best way to do that is to be as honest as possible during your application process.
What campus activities are you involved in? Drama, volleyball, student council, and photography.
What is your favorite College Prep memory? My fondest memory from Prep is definitely the last day of spirit week. I remember being in the gym and seeing all of my classmates cheering in their class colors and it really brought a sense of community and pride.
What is your favorite place on campus? I enjoy the student center because my friends and I like to hang out after school. It's a nice place to study, play, or watch movies.
What has been your favorite class? Asian Worlds because of my teacher and the subject matter of the class. The way we learned, and what we learned, was engaging and motivated me to want to learn outside of the classroom.
What has been the best thing about College Prep? The love everyone has for learning, and the dedication of the teachers to advance that learning, really make me feel like College Prep is the place for me.
Who is your favorite character from a movie/book/television series? Benedick from Much Ado About Nothing.
Three unusual things about me:
1. I was born in Alaska.
2. I dyed my hair orange over the summer.
3. I am an optimist.
