What's the biggest difference between middle school and high school? The expectations from teachers are much higher at College Prep than at my middle school.
Why are you glad that you chose College Prep? When touring College Prep, everyone on campus had a shared passion for learning. During classes, many teachers went to new depths and efforts to elaborate on topics. There is also a sense of warmth and community at College Prep that makesme feel like I am at home.
What advice do you have for 8th graders applying to high school? Don't stress about where you end up going to school, and don't choose a school based on where your friends are going. Pick a school where you feel comfortable and flourish.
What campus activities are you involved in? Student Council, Cross Country, Photography, French Club Leader, Debate Team.
What is your favorite College Prep memory? Freshman year Spirit week! Nobody was sure how much the freshman would do in terms of decoration, but we pulled through and it really showed the strength of our class spirit.
What has been your favorite class? English. The Harkness method used in English classes was one of the things that I was most excited for when starting freshman year. I love discussing what I read in an analytical sense, and I never got to do that at my last school. I am amazed by how much my writing improved just from the first year of English, and it gives me a tremendous amount of confidence moving forward.
What has been the best thing about College Prep? The People! Everyone at College Prep contributes to the unique and inspiring vibe that makes our school so special.
Who is your favorite character from a movie/book/television series? Michael Scott from The Office
Three unusual things about me:
1. I used to live in Florida and moved to California for 9th Grade.
2. I spend my weekends cooking, skiing, and taking pictures
3. I have a passion for foreign languages. (French is my favorite!)
